– All car mechanics within four wheels
Minapim by Hernan Valenzuela: Israeli startup REE seeks to innovate electric vehicles. The reinvention of wheel features and a platform that resembles a big skateboard are the basis of REE´s new electric vehicle.
The revolutionary approach fundamentally changes the way electric vehicles are built. In this new design all engine and dashboard components disappear, their configuration is unique because the car is a platform and four wheels, allowing for lower vehicle weights and therefore greater energy efficiency.
With active suspension, and intelligent power management, the engine, brakes, and transmission are built into the wheels, making the platform free for full use, allowing for vehicle flexibility and stability, as well as the easy design for any application.
“Past concepts are limited and constrain the ability of the automotive industry to realize the autonomous, electric reality they seek,” said Daniel Barel, co-founder and CEO of REE. Until now, the industry has operated by making incremental improvements in traditional automotive vehicle design. Together with Musashi, we are reimagining the future of the automotive industry and accelerating the automotive revolution, literally reinventing the wheel. “
According to Mr. Hiroshi Otsuka, Musashi CEO: “Musashi and REE share a vision for the future of automotive platforms – an energy-efficient, modular zero emission modular platform with an optimized footprint. Together we are making this vision a reality and we are pleased to show the results of this partnership for the first time in Europe. “
With the quadruple engine system, active suspension, height leveling and smart gearbox, the company expects to cater to mobility providers, small businesses and in-house transportation. The solution can be considered high performance, the vehicle reaches 96 Kms / hour or 60 Mph in less than 3 seconds, and can handle loads up to 10 tons.
The REE comes in three versions for cargo or passengers. REE Air – REE Share – REE Bolder .
REE’s strategic partner is the Japanese company Musashi Seimitsu, with 34 branch industries worldwide, specializing in the production of transmission and suspension systems.
