– Can be used in several industrial applications, can be assembled in one hour
Courtesy by Fraunhofer IPA: Fraunhofer IPA’s new clean room system ‘Clean And Protective Environment’, in short ‘CAPE®‘, is compact as a tent, but offers a class of clean rooms up to ISO 1. For the first time, companies and research institutes they now have a clean room on demand (clean room tent) that can be set up quickly and easily anywhere they want to keep their high quality products and systems clean.
In many sectors of the industry with cleaning requirements, the smallest amounts of contamination are sufficient to cause serious losses in quality. Such contamination can result in defective microchips, space probes, or lenses. To avoid this damage, companies that manufacture high quality products outsource the relevant production and assembly steps to clean rooms. Clean rooms are generally expensive, inflexible and unable to protect against contamination from transport. With CAPE®, Fraunhofer IPA has developed the first clean room system that can be flexibly assembled. Because it is portable, it can be used to protect products from contamination during transport.
In addition to offering protection in selected production areas with and without clean room systems, CAPE® can also be used to protect products during contamination-sensitive work processes.
Thanks to the simple construction principle of CAPE®, individual solutions can be assembled and disassembled within an hour.
